Marilyn Monroe the 60's icon and
original hourglass model was born on June 1, 1926.
She was born Norma Jeane Mortenson but
baptized Norma Jeane Baker.
She
found fame as an actress, singer and model and her shapely figure adorned many a
school boy's bedroom wall then and probably still does today.

Her early childhood was spent in foster homes, from where she moved into a
modeling career and her first film contract in 1946.
Her early roles were minor, but she came into her own in films like
'Gentlemen Prefer Blondes' and 'How To
Marry A Millionaire'. Her sexy good looks and voluptuous figure made her one of
Hollywood's most popular and
glamorous performers.
Initially her 'Dumb Blonde' typecasting limited her career prospects, but
she eventually broadened her range and films such as 'Some Like It Hot' and 'The
Seven Year Itch' received critical acclaim.

Given her curvaceous figure it is hardly surprising that her love life
seemed to grab more headlines than her acting and a succession of personalities
and politicians of the time were linked with her.
Her final years of were marked by illness and personal problems. And the
circumstances of her death from a drug overdose are still covered in conjecture
to this day.
One of the sexiest screen idols that Hollywood
has ever produced her amazing natural curves inspired a generation of women and
she was immortalized in the song by Elton John
- 'Goodbye Norma Jean'.
